A List of My Favorite Quotes

myfavquotes.jpgSince the new year is just beginning I wanted to share with you some of my favorites quotes from over the years that I go to when I feel down and need to feel inspirational or I need to my spirit to be uplifted.

**Most of these I found stumbling through Pinterest so if I do not have an author for a lot of the quotes it is because they were taken off of Pinterest.

“Its the little things in life.”

“You don’t have to be perfect to be amazing.”

There are over 500 more quotes that I love and have found over the years over on my Pinterest page if you want to check them out as well.  You can also follow me on Pinterest and check out my other boards here also.

I hope this gives you much inspiration to start 2017 off right!

17 Goals for 2017

17goalspic

Hey guys. After a long break I am finally back in the New Year and ready to write some more blogs.

Can’t believe 2016 is already over? Yea me neither. It has been one crazy year, which I will share with you all in a post coming up next week so stay tuned for that.  Today I want to share with you 17 goals that I have made for 2017!

I explained each goal for you so that you can incorporate some of these things into your New Year’s Resolutions.

  1. Save more, and spend less.

This year I want to start saving as much money as I can so that I will to have to work or work as much when I start graduate school (hopefully I get in) starting in September.2.

2. Exercise More.

My theme for 2017 is to become a healthier more active person.  I want to increase my physical activity this year.

3. No More Soda.

Along with the goal of becoming healthier, I want to cut out sugary beverages from my diet, starting with no more pop.  I will hopefully be adding more things to the “Cut out of my diet” list, but I am starting with pop for now.

4. Drink More Water.

I find myself not drinking enough water and then I end up feeling weak and dehydrated by the end of my day.  If I want to increase my health I need to increase the amount of water I have been drinking.

5.  Read More.

I have found that I am happier when I read more books. I love reading and I want to make more time for reading in the upcoming year.

6. Graduate College..

Graduation is all set for May 2017 and I am so excited and nervous at the sam time!

7. Study Harder

My number one goal for May is to graduate.  I want dos study harder and do my best in my last semester in undergraduate courses.

8. Get Accepted to Graduate School

I am hoping to apply for a graduate program in February.  I am super excited to apply for this program and I am hoping that the hard work I have put into my undergraduate schooling will pay off.

9. Write More Blogs.

I want to become a more avid blogger this year.  I am not looking to become some huge sensation or make lots of money through blogging, but I enjoy writing and enjoying giving people advice and sharing my thoughts with others.

10. Love More.

I want to work on becoming a more compassionate person this year.  I want too spread love a peace around as much as I can.

11. Eat Out Less.

This goal goes along with being healthier and saving money.  I want to work on creating cheaper and healthier meals at home.

12. Spend More Time With Pepper.

I got a puppy a year and a half ago and this year I want to work on training her and spending more time with her.  I want to take her to the park and allow her to become a part of my be healthy mentality.  I think it will be good for the both of us.

13. Love Myself More.

This year I want to increase my self love. I want to do more of what makes me happy and think less about what other think of me.  I want to fall in love with who I am both physically and mentally.

14. Keep Things Cleaner.

I want to keep a tidier and more simplistic lifestyle.  I hope to keep things more organized and decrease clutter in all aspects of my life.  I have even started a bullet journal.

15. Keep up with my bullet journal.

I want to keep a bullet journal to help me organize more parts of my life.  I want to get into a routine of writing things down so they are not forgotten. I want to keep a schedule and get more things done.

16. Spend More Time With My Family.

I want to take the time to be with my family more often.  I want to wake up early and go with my dad to all the places I used to not go to because I was at home a sleep.  Go watch more of Madison’s softball games before she goes off to college net year 3 hours a way.

17. Smile.

I want to live a happier and healthy life right? I want this year to be my best year yet.  I want it to be full of smiles and laughs.  And I hope the same goes for each and every one of you too!

I hope you all have a great new year.  If you have any goals you would like to share leave them in the comments below so we can all support one another in our goals for this year!!

And don’t forget to check out my previous posts here.

October Favorites

1. Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soule Bronzer

I am absolutely in love with this bronzer.  I am a pale gal and this gives my face some warmth without making me look orange and unnatural. I use it to contour and to bronze the whole face.

2. Glam Glow SUPER MUD Clearing Treatment

Everyone has always raved about how much they loved this product and because of the higher price point I was very hesitant to try, but I have to say it was worth every penny.  I use the product 1-2 times a week and have noticed that my skin has been clearer.

3. Morphe 35N Palette

I absolutely love the colors and the pigmentation of the shadows.  I am loving it more during this time of year because of the purple and orange shades it is perfect for fall.

4. Smashbox Photofinisher Primer
Most people have tried this primer ages ago, but I picked it up on a whim a few weeks ago when I went to Sephora to buy mascara. (I came out of there with bronzer, mascara, primer, and a new face wash).  I like how it minimizes my pores and makes a soft canvas to my foundation to go on.

5. Beauty Blender Original

For some reason I waited forever to try this amazing sponge and now I hate doing my make up with out it!

Non-Beauty Related Favs

1. Closer- the Chainsmokers ft. Halsey

School Supply Haul From August

If you read my welcome page then you know I left my old blog format to start a new blog.  I said in the welcome page that I will be adding my old blogs into my site and this is one of those times.  This blog is from back before this fall semester of classes started, but I still wanted to share with you all the supplies that I have been using over the semester so here is the original post:

**Shopping for school supplies has been one of my favorite things to do before every year or every semester since I was old enough to decide what I needed. With classes starting in less than three weeks I want to share with you the school supplies I got for the upcoming semester and how I organize them all.

This year I am taking four classes so I bought four different colored binders.  I love using binders because it is easy to add and remove papers as you need to. I bought mine from my local Staples. To go with the binders I bought tab dividers to section out the binders so my papers are easier to find. they come in packs of five or eight.  I bought the smaller packs because I don’t need eight different sections for each class.  I also bought these from Staples.  I also bought folders that are the same colors as the binders. (I could not find the exact folders I bought on Staples website, but here are some similar ones.)  Since I only have four classes this semester I skipped the individual notebooks for each class and bought a three subject notebook with moveable dividers and made it into a four subject notebook.  I usually take notes on my computer or print out the powerpoint slides so having individual notebooks for each class wasn’t practical for me.

As for writing supplies I like to use the Pilot G2 pens in 0.05 and 0.07 mm.  You can buy these pretty much anywhere, but I linked Staples because I already had their website pulled up.  Target, Kroger, Walmart, Amazon, and pretty much anywhere else that sells pens with most likely have them.  If you haven’t noticed I love to color code my school supplies.  I kept the trend going when I bought my highlighters. I ordered the Zebra Mildliners off of Amazon. The colors in this pack are the same colors I picked out for the binders and folders so that I can color code my planner.

Speaking of planners, I ordered this cute Kate Spade planner off of Amazon about a month ago and have been patently waiting for August to arrive so that I could use it.  It has a weekly and monthly view.  I use the monthly view for birthdays, holidays, or things that take up more than one day.  I use the weekly view to write appointments, school assignments, etc…

These are all of the supplies I currently have bought for the upcoming semester. Thank you for reading and let me know if there are any supplies you recommend for me to try.  Don’t forget to follow me on social media and check out my other blog posts.**

Also I wanted to mention that I am not affiliated with any of the companies or links mentioned.  I purchased these products on my own and sincerely enjoy using them.

Thank you so much for reading!

Love,

Morgan

Morning Routine

Good Morning!

Today I am here to share with you all my morning routine for days when I have classes.

I usually wake up around 5:45am.  The first thing I do it let out my dog and give her some love for about 15 minutes. Then I’ll slip on some shoes and head into the house to take a shower.

After my shower it ends up being about 6:15.(Check out my favorite skin care blog coming soon for the face products I use.)   After the shower I am usually ready to eat breakfast and have some coffee.  I use the Vanilla coffee from Starbucks K-cups in my Keurig 2.0. For breakfast I will usually eat cereal, a granola bar, a banana or a bagel depending on my mood in the morning.

After breakfast, at about 6:40,  I pick out my outfit for the day and then I usually dry my hair and put some toner and moisturizer on my face (if its really humid I’ll skip the moisturizer so I don’t get too oily). If I am feeling girly I will put on makeup which usually consists of foundation, concealer, powder and mascara. By 7:10 I am all ready to go for the day.  I put my dog back in her cage, depending on the weather, I may leave her out during the day and then I head off to class.

** Depending on what class I have on a given day the time I wakeup may change.  If I have class at 8am I follow the times above, but if i have class at a later time I will usually get up about 7:45 pushing everything back a couple hours. **

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Morgan

My Favorite Reads

Hello!

Today I wanted to share with you all my favorite books. This list changes all the time and I pick up new books because I am an obsessed reader, but these are my favorites right now.

I have enjoyed reading for the past ten years or so.  The first book I read that made me fall in love with reading was Twilight.  Looking back on it I find it funny that it was the book that made me enjoy reading so much, but at the time it was just becoming a movie and it was extremely popular.  After reading that series I quickly became obsessed with books.  I now have many books filling up my shelves including everything from Harry Potter to The Notebook.

Here is a list of my favorite books, not just right now, but ones that I have loved over the years.  These are not in any particular order, they are listed as they pop in my head.

  1. The Notebook* – Nicholas Sparks
  2. Harry Potter* – JK Rowlingimg_7797
  3. The Immortal Instruments Series – Cassandra Clare
  4. Dear John* – Nicholas Sparks
  5. Everything We Keep – Kerry Lonsdale
  6. The Hunger Games* – Suzanne Collins
  7. Divergent Series – Veronica Roth
  8. The Fault in Our Stars – John Green
  9. Under the Never Sky – Veronica Rossi
  10. The Selection Series – Kiera Cass
  11. Me Before You- Jojo Moyes
  12. The Lunar Chronicles- Marissa Meyer

* I have read this book/ series more than once.

I hope you all check out some of these books if you have not yet read them.  I think you can find all of them on Amazon, but I am not 100% sure.  Let me know if you have any recommendations for me.

Pepper: My Baby

Good morning all.

Today I wanted to share with you my baby girl, Pepper.  Is she not the cutest thing ever?!?! She is a Golden Doodle (mix between and golden retriever and a poodle).  I have had her for almost a year now.  She is the first dog I have purchased and have taken care of almost completely on my own.  I got her when she was about 2 and a half months old. She’s my little white ball of fur.  She loves paying fetch with her little pink pig. She loves laying on top of me and getting her belly rubbed.

She was so fluffy and very shy.  She hid under the deck for almost 6 hours after I brought her home.  It took her a few days to warm up to me and now she hates being away from me at all.   She grew so quickly, even her hair got super long.  She went from weighing 13 lbs. at her first vet visit to weighing 30 at the next one and they were only a few weeks apart.

She got a hair cut a few weeks ago so she looks less fluffy and messy.  She has gotten so big and enjoys laying with my on my bed while I work on my computer (my parents hate that I let her on my bed, but she’s just so cute and fun to have around).

The hardest thing about having her has been training her.  She loves chewing socks and getting into my garbage to chew on used tissues.  She’s very sweet and loving though.  She does get excited and pees around new visitors so she can only greet them while she’s outside.  She’s had all of her shots and is very healthy and I love having her around!!

TriBeta Biology Club Camping Trip

Hello All,

Today I want to share with you some pictures and stories from this past weekend’s camping trip to Versailles State Park with the Biology Club at my University.

This is an annual camping trip that the Biology Club does.  Students and faculty members come out to sit around the camp fire, go hiking in the woods, and to have fun.  This was the first year for all of the students that went and we had a blast.  I enjoyed getting to relax with my friends and professors and get to learn about the different insects and bugs around the area and also the fossils.

Because we were all on fall break, we got to the campsite in the afternoon on Friday.  After we all got our tents set up the students went exploring the woods surrounding the campsite in search of firewood so that the professors could build up a fire before it got too cold and dark.

We got to have hot dogs, homemade chili, and salad for dinner and brownies and cookies for dessert. Once the sunset and the fire was going we got to make s’mores and warm up under the stars.

Later in the evening the students went exploring around the campground.  We went on a walk through the dark and enjoyed scaring each other a bit.

After a little too much to drink and a long restless night of sleep we got up at the butt crack of dawn and Dr. Fisher made us all bacon, sausage, goetta.  We got to make our own scrambled eggs in plastic baggies inside of a boiling pot which I did not know was a thing.  It was a really easy a mess free easy to make eggs in the morning.

After relaxing by the fire, once again, we packed up all of our things and headed over to some trails to go hiking before we went home.  After a few hours of hiking and getting lost several times we all departed ways with some great memories and exhausted bodies.  I really enjoyed the experience and the best part was that the weather was perfect the whole time.

If there are any MSJ students reading my blog I would recommend that you go on the trip next year.  Thank you all for reading!

Till Next Time!

XOXO,

Morgan
